Your District and County Councillor
Councillors for Fenny Compton at Stratford-on-Avon District Council
We have two District Councillors, Natalie Gist (natalie.gist@stratford-dc.gov.uk) and Nigel Rock (nigel.rock@stratford-dc.gov.uk)
Natalie moved to this area nearly fifteen years ago and all of her children attended The Dassett Primary School, where she was a governor. Natalie was also a trustee of Abacus Pre-School for many years. Natalie is a solicitor (non-practising) having practised in Commercial Property in Stratford upon Avon for nearly fifteen years. In addition to being joint Ward Member, Natalie also sits on the Cabinet at SDC where she is the Portfolio Holder for Law and Governance. You may see her walking her black Labrador around the village from time to time or enjoying the cake at ‘Just A Bite’ with her friends – all for charity, of course!
Nigel was born in Warwickshire and was a student apprentice in the motor industry, emerging with a degree in mechanical engineering. He has had a career revolving around various aspects of engineering technology, first in aerodynamics, then in analytical techniques, safety and quality management. Originally working in the international automotive industry, he has also worked in aerospace and engineering in medicine. His ‘famous for 15 minutes’ period was his involvement in the Kegworth aircrash investigation, which resulted in the crash brace position that is on the safety card in aircraft. He has held senior posts in two PLCs. In the latter part of his working life he worked at low a carbon energy company helping people and companies to reduce their energy and carbon footprint. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has lived in Napton since 1985, and plays tenor sax in his spare time.
